Good morning families,

Northfield Montessori will be closing at 3:30 p.m. today. Our top priority is keeping our community both families and staff safe and the early closure will help ensure everyone who lives out of town gets home safely while it is still light out.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience, we are sympathetic to knowing the inconvenience shortened hours and closure may cause.

Please stay safe today and we will see everyone by 3:30 p.m.

Hi Northfield Montessori Families and Staff-

As I am  sure many of you have heard, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in MN starting tomorrow into early Saturday morning. The storm is projected to bring extremely heavy snowfall to the state. We will be monitoring conditions closely and notify our community as soon as possible with any closures or changes to hours. Our top priority is keeping our community both families and staff safe. We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience, we are sympathetic to knowing the inconvenience shortened hours and closures may cause.

We wanted to remind families of the different ways we communicate any center related winter weather updates. These updates can include center closures, late starts, or early closures. All updates will be communicated via email, our center facebook page, and center text alert system. If you have not signed up for text alerts all you need to do is text the words northfield montessori to 888-512-0644.

As we approach our first big snow storm of the year I have included our “snow day policy” for reference which also can be found in our handbook.

Snow Day Policy -

Northfield Montessori realizes that closing the school can be a major inconvenience for parents, especially for those who work outside of Northfield. While it is our desire and goal to remain open, the safety of the children and staff are our first priority. If conditions are extreme and not expected to improve making it dangerous for families and staff to travel to and from Northfield Montessori, we will close the school. The decision to close the school will be made in a timely manner by the center director and the Chair of the Board of Directors. We do not follow Northfield School District school closures. Updates and notices will be posted on our Facebook page and will be sent to each family by email and through KidReports. Please note there will be no refunds or credits given to families for a snow day.

Stay safe!
